みなさん、こんにちは。

今日、僕達は鹿児島に行きました。僕は今回ちょっとワクワクしていました。それは今までそのあたりのビーチや温泉についていろいろと本を読んでいたからです。

残念なことに、今回僕達は観光する時間はありませんでしたが、最初の演奏会場である郊外の学校に行く途中、タクシーから見えた素晴らしい風景から目が離せませんでした。緑にあふれた小さな丘や山並、まるで絵はがきのようでした（多分、今までは大きな街にしか行っていなかったからかもしれません）。火山である桜島は煙を上げていました。

最初に行った学校では、出来るだけ多くのクラスに各自が廻って、バッハの楽章を弾きました。最初に訪れた7歳のクラスの男の子は、もうすでに音楽を楽しむ用意ができていました。彼は踊ったり、指揮をするまねをしたり、演奏中、ずーっと笑っていました。

僕は彼に楽器にチャレンジしてもらいました。彼が弓を持って、僕が左手を支えました。彼はすぐにジングルベルを弾いて、部屋に居たみんなが一緒に歌いました。僕達は、とても楽しい時間を過ごしました。その子はその後もずっと、他のクラスや控え室、そして上級生の為の演奏会場まで僕の後を付いてきました。その後の質問コーナーで、彼は立ち上がって、まったく臆する事なく皆に自分の意見を言っていました。
僕は心の中で、なんて頭のいい子なんだろうと感心していました。

次の学校はそのエリアで一番歴史のある支援学校でした。そこは1965年から障がいを持った子ども達を受け入れていました。僕は、そこの子ども達がとても音楽を楽しんでいるのに驚かされました。音楽が好きなのに、体が不自由でコンサート会場に行くのが難しいのは、とても残念なことです。

今、僕達は大阪への飛行機の中です。明日は僕達最初の大きなコンサートがフェニックスホールで控えています。

鹿児島の子ども達の笑顔を胸に、夕方、大阪入りしました。

ミュージック・シェアリングのオフィスは東京にあるのですが、大阪に入ったとたんに「帰ってきた」という気持ちになるのは不思議なものです。ここ数年、この時期は必ず大阪に来るからかもしれません。

メンバー達は、みどりお薦めのお店でおいしい夕食をおなかいっぱい食べて、リラックスしています。ファイトとピーターは、ピザをお箸で食べるほど、日本人化してきました。

明日はいよいよザ・フェニックスホールでの報告コンサート。会場にて皆さまをお待ちしております。

Hello everybody, today we spent our day in Kagoshima. I was quite excited about this trip, because I read a lot about the beautiful beaches and the “onsen“ – the japanese hot springs. Unfortunately we didn't have the time to do sight seeing but throughout our ride by taxi we saw an amazing landscape because the first school where we played was outside of the town. It is so green there (probably also because we usually stay in the big citys) with many little hills and mountains – just like on the postcards. The vulcano Sakurajima next to Kagoshima was luckily only smoking.

In the school we first each played movements of solo Bach to cover as many classes as possible. Already in the first room where I played was a seven years old boy who really enjoyed the music so much! He started dancing, conducting and was laughing the whole time. After I let him try the instrument (he took the bow and I did the left hand). He played immediately Jingle Bell's and everybody in the room was singing with us. For both of us it was such a happy moment! After that he followed me to all the other classrooms, to our dressing room and also came to the quartet concert which we gave for a bigger group in the same school. Later in the questioning it was once more him who stood up and, not shy at all, told everybody his opinion that I look really smart in my blue shirt...

The next school which we visited is the oldest school in the area – they already take care of children with disabilities since 1965. Once more I can be only astonished how much these children enjoy music. It is really sad that people who like the music so much are having so many problems to go to concert halls. Now we are flying to Osaka because tomorrow will be our first big concert in the Phoenix Hall.
